Robert Dunlop was a former professional motorcycle road racer from Northern Ireland. He was born on November 25, 1960, in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland. Dunlop was known for his success in road racing events, particularly in the Isle of Man TT races.
Dunlop made his racing debut in 1985 and went on to have a successful career, winning multiple races and championships. He was a highly skilled rider and was known for his aggressive and fearless riding style. Dunlop also had a strong connection to the Honda Racing Team, with whom he achieved much of his success.
Tragically, Robert Dunlop was killed in a racing accident during a practice session at the North West 200 race in May 2008. He was 47 years old at the time of his death. Despite his untimely passing, Dunlop's legacy as a motorcycle racing icon continues to live on, and he is remembered as one of the greatest road racers in the history of the sport.
